WHO IS HASAN SINAR?

Prof. Dr. Hasan Sınar is a graduate of Istanbul University Faculty of Law.

Sınar received his master’s degree from Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences with his thesis on “Criminal Liability Arising from Crimes Committed on the Internet.” He conducted his research at the Max-Planck Institute for International Criminal Law in the city of Freiburg, Germany. He received his doctorate title with his doctoral thesis on “Protecting Copyrights from the Perspective of Criminal Law” at Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences. He also obtained a second master’s degree on “information and communication law” at Queen Mary College-University of London in the UK as a Chevening scholar.

A member of the International Criminal Law Association (AIDP) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Criminal Law Association, Hasan Sınar currently serves as the Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law at Altınbaş University Faculty of Law.
